How EPL Junkies works
Every feature in the app in one place: what it does, how scoring works, and the rules behind it.
Predictions and scoring
Pick a score for every fixture. Each prediction locks at that match's own kickoff — enforced by the server's clock, not by a button that merely looks disabled.
- Correct result (win, draw or loss): 1 point
- Correct goal difference on top of a correct result: +1
- Exact scoreline: +2 (so an exact score is worth 4 in total)
The Banker
One prediction a gameweek can be your Banker: +3 if it scores, and nothing lost if it does not. Choosing a new Banker moves the chip rather than failing — only one applies per gameweek.
Leagues
Every player starts with a private league. Create more from the Leagues tab, and invite people with a share code — anyone who enters a valid code joins instantly. League admins can create and revoke invite codes, with an optional expiry and a maximum number of uses.
Standings
The table is calculated only from predictions that have actually been scored — a fixture that has not been played yet does not appear, so the table never implies a result before it happens. Switch between the full season and a single gameweek from the Leagues tab.
Cups
Knockout cups run inside a league, drawn from its members. Five formats are supported: the season cup, a Christmas cup, a European cup, a family cup, and a charity cup, where each entrant nominates a cause instead of playing for themselves. Ties are decided by that gameweek's prediction points and the bracket is reproducible from its draw seed, so a result can always be audited.
Table predictor
Before a season starts, rank a top 5 or top 10 finish. That prediction locks at the season's first kickoff and scores once the final table is confirmed — an exact position earns more than a near miss.
Streaks, milestones and rivalries
A streak counts consecutive scored gameweeks with points on the board; missing a gameweek the league has already settled breaks it. Milestones celebrate the first time you hit one — a hot streak, a run of exact scores — and never repeat. Your rivalry is automatically set to whoever sits directly above you in the table. If you're already top, it's your nearest challenger in second place instead — never yourself. A running head-to-head record comes with it.
Matchday and the Junkie Belt
The Matchday tab recaps a gameweek: who won it, the Junkie Belt holder (the reigning top scorer, until someone beats them), and shareable cards for the group chat.
League chat
Every league has its own conversation. Messages are capped at 500 characters, plain text only, and can be reacted to. You can delete your own messages; league admins can remove anyone's, and repeated reports hide a message automatically pending review.
Friends and status feed
Add a friend by sharing your personal code — entering someone else's adds you both immediately, no approval step needed because the code itself is the invitation. Once you're friends, you can each post short status updates that only your friends (and you) can see — a tweet-sized line for banter, predictions you're backing, or trash talk, kept separate from any one league's chat.
Premium
